‘Troika Run’ 2014

With approximately 5000 participants every year, the Tek trojk in Ljubljana is one of Slovenia's biggest running events.

The event offers three races — 29km, 12.5km, and a 3km run for children.

Participants must form a team of three runners (male, female, or mixed). It is not possible to run as an individual without a team. All three team members must run the full distance, and all three must cross the finish line together!

The 29km and the 12.5km routes both begin and end on the beautiful Kongresni trg (‘Congress Square’) in the city centre, and both are single loops which take the runners through the eastern part of Ljubljana and across the densely-wooded Golovec hill. Some sections of the course are on gravel roads and trails.

The Tek trojk forms part of the annual celebrations that commemorate the liberation of Ljubljana at the end of World War Two.
