4th Bevkov vrh Mountain Race
This small mountain running event runs through lovely scenery and offers marvellous panoramic views of inland Slovenia.
But you will need a good map to find the village of Jazne, located about 17 kilometres from the old mining town of Idrija, somewhere in the hills between Ljubljana and the Julian Alps.
The start is in Jazne at an elevation of 536 metres, the finish at 1025 metres above sea level, close to the summit of Bevkov vrh (1051m).
The 6-kilometre route includes approximately 630 metres of ascent and 150 metres of descent.
A village festival with live music will take place in the afternoon.
In 2009, the winners were Tone Kosmač (28:14) and Katja Rakušček (36:34).
