29th Marathon of the Three Hearts 2009

The "Marathon of the Three Hearts", named after the logo of the Radenska mineral water, is the major Slovene running event in the spring season.

In 2008, more than 2700 runners took part in four races of 5.5k, 10k, 21k and 42k. The half marathon and the 10km run were by far the most popular. Just 175 finished the marathon.

Many marathon runners may find it mentally quite challenging to run two laps of 21km on a flat and relatively dull course around large fields on a broad plain. In addition, it can get quite hot in these parts in mid-May, and there's hardly any shade on the route.

The large wooded park next to the start/finish area, in contrast, is really nice, and the adjacent spa with its indoor and outdoor thermal pools is a wonderful place to relax after the race.
