16th South Tyrolean Spring Half Marathon Merano - Lagundo

 

There are lots of reasons to make your way to South Tyrol and participate in this popular running event: the beautiful spa town of Merano with its mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation, the scenic race course through orchards with apple trees in blossom, the impressive mountain scenery, the marathon parties on Saturday and Sunday, or the winner's presentation on the pretty Kurpromenade. Venue (Map): Meran-Merano (30km from Bozen-Bolzano, 150km from Innsbruck, 183km from Verona)

Race distance: 21.0975 km (accurately measured)

Start and finish: Merano city centre, Freiheitsstraße

Race course: undulating; one short lap in Merano followed by two longer laps between Merano and Algund

Entries: online, payment by bank transfer (details on the official website); runners from Italy need to show a medical certificate that they are fit to run.

Entry fees: 20 EUR until 12 April 2009; 30 EUR from 13 April 2009; 40 EUR on 25 April 2009 (in the race centre); no entries on the day; you have to pay 5 EUR more if you are not a member of the Italian Athletics Federation FIDAL (pay when you get your race number)

Race centre: Pick up your race number on Saturday (25 April) between 11.00 and 19.00 or on the race day between 7.30 and 9.00.

You get: a present (for all advance entries); chip for timing
