Held in Olomouc, an old city of about 100,000 people in Moravia in the eastern part of the Czech Republic, this Winter Run offers a 4km race (one lap) and an 8km race (two laps).

The start and the finish are at the Výstaviště Flora Olomouc, the Flora Olomouc Exhibition Grounds, which are situated about 750 metres from Horní náměstí, the main square (pictured below).

The route runs through two public parks, Smetanovy sady (Smetana Park) and Čechovy sady (Čech Park).

Except for the footbridge which connects the two parks, and which you'll have to cross twice per lap, the course is flat and fast.

The above picture shows the ramp of the bridge as well as the 710m-long main avenue of the beautiful Smetana Park.

More than 550 runners took part in the event last year. The entry limit is 500 runners for each race. The time limit to complete the course is 90 minutes.
