Hodonín (Czech Republic) - Skalica (Slovakia), Saturday 17 December 2016
This 12.5km-long medzinárodný cestný beh (international road race) is a long-standing and popular running event that has attracted many elite athletes and amateur runners from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries.
The route alternates in direction each year. In 2016, participants will run from the town of Hodonín in the Czech Republic across the state border into Slovakia and then through Holíč to the finish line in the old town of Skalica (pictured).
With the exception of one bridge, the course is flat and fast. The route is not closed to traffic during the race.
Last year, László Gregor of Hungary (39 minutes 20 seconds) and Sofiya Yaremchuk of Ukraine (45 minutes 38 seconds) led a record field of 455 finishers across the line.
