The Halbmarathon München draws around 1,500 runners to the Olympiapark which was built for the Olympic Games 1972 in the northern part of Munich.

Entrants can choose between the 5km fun run (one lap), the 10km race (two laps), or the half marathon (four laps followed by a 1.1km loop).

Starting and finishing on Coubertinplatz at the Olympic Stadium, the route passes numerous sports facilities as well as the former Olympic Village (pictured).

The course is undulating (20m of ascent per lap), traffic-free, and entirely on asphalt.
