Jesolo (Italy), Saturday 24 May 2014
The Moonlight Half Marathon is a tremendously scenic and atmospheric road race, held on a point-to-point course in the Province of Venice in northern Italy.
Starting at 8pm on the waterfront of Cavallino-Treporti in the Venetian Lagoon, the first half of the race is run along a canal in the quiet and beautiful lagoon.
The character of the race changes completely when runners approach Lido di Jesolo, one of the major beach resorts on the northern Adriatiac. Participants can expect rock bands and many spectators along the course to create an electrifying atmosphere.
The route is certified and traffic-free, and apart from one bridge it's completely flat.
Last year, the race had more than 2,700 finishers. The 3,500 spots for this year's event may fill up well before the closing date.
