69. Běh Lužánkami 2014
Brno (Czech Republic), Saturday 22 March 2014
Held every year since 1946 in Brno, the Czech Republic's second-largest city, the Běh Lužánkami is a running event with a long tradition.
Women run 6.4km (four laps), and men run 8km (five laps).
The route is a 1.6km loop on footpaths through Lužánky, the oldest urban public park in the country, and home to a wide variety of domestic and exotic trees.
Over the years, the event has attracted a large number of strong distance runners.
In 2013, around 550 athletes from ten countries took part in the races. The fastest finishers came from the Czech Republic: Roman Rudolecký and Šárka Macháčková.
Update (10 March 2014):
Over 620 runners have registered already for the event. In order to avoid overcrowding on the course, the men's race will be started in two heats (at 12.15 and at 13.00). The finishing times will be merged into one set of results.
