Participants in the Tek prijateljstva run 11.8 kilometres of a hilly circular route through a beautiful karstic landscape in Slovenia. Most of the race is run on gravel roads through forests and lovely flowery meadows.

The race begins and ends in the village of Hotedršica, which is approximately 25km from the famous Postojna Caves and 40km from Slovenia's capital Ljubljana.

The first half of the course is mainly uphill, the second half downhill. The difference between the lowest and the highest point on the course is about 160 metres.

In 2012, the winners were Jernej Šemrov (41:29) and Kristina Bele (51:14).
