8th "Übersbach Spring Race" 2010

The small village of Übersbach in the Austrian province of Styria hosts the first race of the CERR-Cup, the "Central European Region Running Cup", a series of ten running events in the Austria-Hungary-Slovenia border region.
Entrants choose between the half marathon, which is held in the morning, and the 7k main race in the afternoon - or they do both.
Whatever your decision, you run on the same course, a traffic-free 7km-lap, most of which is out-and-back on country lanes toward the spa town of Loipersdorf. Half marathoners run three laps. The route is mainly flat, but shortly before the turning point the road goes up and down a small hill.
In 2009, on a crisp and sunny day, Thomas Bosnjak (23:09) and Irina Guarghias (28:58) won the 7k main race. Wolfgang Wallner (1:14:15) and Maria Gabbichler (1:33:39) celebrated victory in the half marathon.
Participants get a free ticket to the thermal pools of the nearby spa in Loipersdorf, but this may not be valid on the day of the event.
