The route runs through the awesome scenery of the Sexten Dolomites.

Every year on the first Sunday in August, approximately 1000 runners and hikers take part in this 30-kilometre tour through the breathtaking landscape of the Sexten Dolomites in northern Italy.

The route passes the famous Three Lavaredo Peaks (Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen), icy alpine lakes, bizarre rock formations, and six mountain huts.

The start is at an elevation of 1750 metres at the Lago di Misurina, a popular lake located 14 kilometres up the road from the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo. In 1956, the Olympic speed skating competitions took place on Lake Misurina.

The finish is in the village of Auronzo di Cadore (864m), located on a large reservoir.

Overall, the route features approximately 1300 metres of ascent and 2200 metres of descent.

The highest point on the course is at an elevation of over 2500 metres, which means that you need to take appropriate clothing with you.

There will be four feed stations on the course and one at the finish. The time limit is 10 hours.

You won't have to provide a medical certificate at registration as the event is "non-competitive". Nevertheless, finishing times will be taken, and the top finishers will be awarded with prizes.

In 2009, the winners were Marco Moretton (2:45:53) and Vania Gallo (3:13:08).
