A good chance to clock a personal record over the half or the full marathon distance offers this event in the vast Prater park in Austria's capital, organized by the athletics club LCC Wien.

The races are held on a very flat and fast 7km-lap with one turning point in each lap. The course is certified by AIMS. Most of the route is on an out-and-back section of the Prater Hauptallee. This may be a bit dull but the course is traffic-free and entirely in the woods, the air is fine in the park, and the temperatures at the end of October are usually very good to run a fast time.

The start and the finish are near the Ernst-Happel football stadium. On the route, there are three feed stations.

Families and friends may like the course as it gives them the chance to cheer you on many times.

In order to avoid congestion on the course, the race is limited to overall 1000 half and full marathon runners.

In 2008, both marathon winners were 40 years old. Thomas Srb won in a time of 2:29:59, Regina Liebert was the first woman home in 3:08:27.
