Running Festival Bad Blumau 2009

A very pleasant way to spend May Day is this relaxed event in Bad Blumau, a small village famous for the luxurious thermal spa "Rogner Bad Blumau", designed by the eccentric Friedensreich Hundertwasser. 

From the start in the village centre you run on a 5.275km-lap course along the valley, passing the spa complex and returning along a brook to the village. Entrants choose to run either one lap, two laps (a quarter of a marathon) or four laps to make it a half marathon.

Participants of the half and the quarter marathon get a free entry ticket to the spa, but you are well advised to make a reservation beforehand if you want get in on the day of the event - entries per day are limited.

Entry fees: Half marathon and 10.5km run: advance entries 22 EUR, late entries 25 EUR; 5.3km run and nordic walking: 12/15 EUR

Timing: Champion Chip ( bring your own chip or rent one for 3 EUR (25 EUR deposit))

Race centre: Kulturzentrum Bad Blumau (open on 30 April from 17.00 to 19.00 and on 1 May from 7.30 to 9.15)

You get: Half marathon and 10.55km runners: a voucher for a day ticket for the Rogner Bad Blumau (worth 42 EUR)*, a present for the first 200 entries, pasta party; 5.3km runners: a present for the first 150 entries, pasta party

*  You can use the ticket for the thermal spa on 1 May but it's essential to make a reservation at the spa in time. Call +43 3383 51009603 for a reservation with reference to your Lauffestival voucher. The ticket is not valid on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
