Live 100 years!
What a welcome change in the Croatian road running calendar!
Most runners are used to trot around on roads for hours, but some like it fast! This race is fast. Very fast. Women run 3.25km and men 5.42km.
The course records are being held by the Slovene Olympian Sonja Roman (10:25min) and the Croatian 10km record holder Slavko Petrović (15:33min).
In the last years, there were no entry fees and every runner got a free meal and a T-Shirt. Nevertheless, in 2008 just 14 men and 9 ladies took part in the race.
Running is not very fashionable in the north-east of Croatia, and many long-distance runners have shied away from this event as they feel it may not be worth to travel far for just a few minutes of running. Pity! It's a nice event in a relaxing, provincial town.
However, the kids like it. A large number of children flew around the course last year.
