4th Cross in the Vrtojba-Bilje Hills

The cross-country running season in Slovenia starts on the last Sunday before Christmas in the winegrowing region of Central Primorska, very close to the Italian town of Gorizia and also not far from the Gulf of Trieste.

The course is very attractive. You run several laps on grass and dirt trails up and down the vineyards. The distance you run depends on your age category:

  • 5km: men (born 1960 and older), women (born 1991/1992, and 1974 and older)
  • 6km: men (born 1991/1992, and 1961-1974), women (born 1975-1990)
  • 8km: men (born 1975-1990)
