Held annually in early December in the foothills of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps in Slovenia, the Miklavžev tek (Saint Nicholas Race) is a very atmospheric hill running event.

Starting at the thermal spa complex of Terme Snovik, approximately 30 kilometres from Ljubljana, the race features a 5.3km uphill course which includes almost 300m of ascent.

The route takes the runners on a mix of asphalt roads, gravel roads and trails through lovely rural scenery.

The finish line is at the church of Sveti Miklavž (Saint Nicholas) which sits at an elevation of about 750 metres on top of a wooded hill.
