The Tek štirih srčnih mož okoli Bohinjskega jezera takes runners around the 4.35km-long Bohinjsko jezero (Lake Bohinj), Slovenia's largest lake, situated in the Triglav National Park in the Julian Alps.

The route is 11km long and undulating.

Participants run on mixed terrain (forest trails, gravel and a bit of asphalt) clockwise around the lake, mostly through forests close to the shore.

The start is in the hamlet of Ribčev Laz which is home to the spomenik štirim srčnim možem, a ‘monument to the four brave men’ who climbed to the summit of Triglav (2,864m) in August 1778. They were the first men to reach the peak of Slovenia's highest mountain, which rises to the north of Lake Bohinj.

The finish line is in the village of Stara Fužina, approximately 1,500 metres from the start area.

Since 2023, the event also offers a 21km trail race which features a longer and more challenging route around the lake.
