This maratonina (half marathon) is held annually in March in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the north-eastern part of Italy.

Competitors run three laps of a flat course through the comune di Brugnera, a rural municipality in the Alto Livenza wine-producing region near the town of Pordenone.

The race is run mainly on asphalt roads. Each lap includes a short run on gravel paths through the park of a very beautiful Venetian villa, the Villa Varda (pictured above).

In addition, the event offers a 7.1k race and a non-competitive 7k run and walk.

Entrants to the half marathon and to the 7.1k race must be in possession of a valid medical certificate for athletics if they are not a member of a running club recognized by World Athletics. You don't need such a certificate for the non-competitive 7k fun run and walk.
