The TrailDoloMitica trail running festival offers two challenging races through the stunning scenery of the Dolomites in Italy:
- 22km Eco-Trail with 1,100m of ascent
- 42km Eco-Marathon with 2,150m of ascent
Both routes begin and end in the village of Padola which is situated at an elevation of about 1,200 metres in the Val Comelico area in the Province of Belluno, near the border with Austria.
Participants should have some experience with running in the high mountains. The highest point on the Eco-Trail course is at 2,025 metres above sea level, the highest point on the marathon course at 2,379 metres!
Therefore, it is highly recommended to take at least a windbreaker jacket, gloves and a hat with you.
The time limit to finish the marathon is nine hours. It is allowed to use trekking poles.
The event also features live music and plenty of fine food.
