The Pécs-Harkány Országúti Futóverseny ('Pécs-Harkány Road Running Race') is a 25.6km point-to-point run for individual runners and 3-person relay teams.

Held annually in the Southern Transdanubia region in Hungary, it's a long-standing and prestigious event that has attracted many elite distance runners from near and far.

Starting at 11am on Verseny utca (Verseny Street) in the southern part of Pécs, an old city with a multicultural population of about 140,000, the route runs southward along the undulating 58-as főút (State Road 58) which is not closed to traffic during the race.

The finish line is at the gyógyfürdő (thermal spa; pictured) in the town of Harkány.

After the race, participants get free entry into the spa complex with its large indoor and outdoor pools.

Later in the afternoon, they can use the free bus service to get back to Pécs (at 4pm and at 5pm).
