With more than 1,500 finishers, the Kékes Csúcsfutás (Kekes Peak Run) is the biggest mountain running event in Hungary.

You can choose between two races — the traditional road race (held since 1998) and the trail race (held since 2022).

Both routes are 11.6 kilometres long and uphill with 671 metres of elevation gain, starting in the village of Mátrafüred (343m) at the foot of the Mátra mountain range and finishing on the summit of Kékes, Hungary's highest mountain (1,014m).

For walking back down to Mátrafüred after the race you can take a shorter hiking trail, which is approximately seven kilometres long.
