Held annually in Budapest, the Vivicittá Félmaraton (Vivicitta Spring Half Marathon) is one of the biggest running events in Hungary.

The start/finish area is usually either on Margit-sziget (Margaret Island), an island in the River Danube, or on Ötvenhatosok tere (56-osok tere), a square on the edge of the Városliget (City Park).

Wherever the venue is, the route takes the runners through the city centre and along the Danube, passing many of Budapest's best-known sights. The course is mainly flat and fast.

The race is open to individuals and to relay teams of two or three runners.

In addition to the half marathon, the event features a 10k race.

A 7k run and a number of shorter races for fun runners, families and walkers take place on Saturday, one day before the half marathon.
