Organized by the Rodgau Lauftreff (RLT) running club, the 50km-Ultramarathon is a popular winter ultramarathon race that attracts around 800 to 1,000 runners.
Participants run ten laps of a mostly-flat, accurately-measured 5km course through woods and fields on the edge of the town of Rodgau, which is situated about twenty-five kilometres from the city of Frankfurt am Main in Germany's state of Hesse (German: Hessen).
Approximately three kilometres of each lap are run on unpaved roads and two kilometres on asphalt.
