The Oktoberfestlauf (‘Oktoberfest Run’) takes place at the time of the Oktoberfest, the famous folk and beer festival that is held annually from mid/late September to early October in the city of München (Munich) in Germany.

Three different options are available for participants:

  • 5km
  • 10km
  • 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)

The route is completely flat and very fast. It takes the runners around the 2,230-metre-long Regattastrecke Oberschleißheim (Oberschleißheim Regatta Course), a rowing and canoeing venue located approximately 16 kilometres north of Munich's city centre.

The 5k is one lap around the regatta course, the 10k is two laps and the half marathon is four laps followed by a 1.1-kilometre loop at the end.
