The Dresdner Nachtlauf (Dresden Night Run) is held on a Friday night in August in Dresden, capital of the state of Sachsen (Saxony) in Germany.
The event takes place on the first day of the Dresdner Stadtfest, a three-day street festival that usually draws an estimated half a million visitors every year.
Starting and finishing in the city centre, both the 6.2km race and the 11.5km race take the runners along both banks of the Elbe river.
