The Würzburg Marathon is a road running event held annually in spring in Würzburg, a 1,300-year-old city of about 130,000 people, situated in a wine-producing area in the Franken (Franconia) region in Germany's state of Bayern (Bavaria).

Starting and finishing at the Congress Centrum Würzburg (CCW) on the northern edge of the Old Town, the 10k and the half marathon are one-lap races whereas the marathon is two laps of the half marathon course.

The flat-to-gently-undulating route takes the runners through modern and historic quarters of Würzburg and along both banks of the Main, passing several outstanding sights, such as the Residenz (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) or the imposing Marienberg Fortress which towers high above the river:
