RUN Nürnberg (formerly known as ‘Stadtlauf Nürnberg’) is held annually on the Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Unity), Germany's national day, celebrated on 3 October to commemorate the anniversary of German reunification in 1990.

With more than 4,000 participants in three races ...

  • 6km
  • 10km
  • 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)

... it is the largest running event in the Franken (Franconia) region in the northern part of the state of Bayern (Bavaria).

The start and the finish are on the main square of Nürnberg (Nuremberg), a very old and historically important city of over half a million people.

Participants in the 10k race run one lap of a mainly flat course through the city centre, through parkland and around the Wöhrder See, a reservoir in the eastern part of Nuremberg.

The half marathon is two laps of this course.

Instead of a bib number, entrants get a technical T-shirt which they must wear during the race.
