The Aalborg Brutal Marathon in Denmark features, as you may guess, a very challenging course.

The 42.195km race consists of an 800m warm-up loop followed by six laps of a hilly 6.9km-long loop course through residential areas, woods and parkland in the south-western part of Denmark's fourth-largest city.

Each lap includes approximately 100 metres of ascent. The difference between the lowest and the highest point on the course is about 50 metres.

Around 70 percent of the course is run on asphalt roads, 20 percent on gravel roads and 10 percent on forest trails.
