This is the first race of the NN Night Run series, which is held between April and October in eight cities in the Czech Republic,.

It takes place in the steel city of Ostrava, the third-largest city in the country with a population of about 280,000, situated in the Moravskoslezský kraj (Moravian-Silesian Region) near the border with Poland.

The event offers a 5k (one lap), a 10k (two laps) and a 2x5k štafeta (relay).

Participants must wear a čelovka (headlamp) during the race.

The event also offers children's races, a 2k fun run and a 1k sprint.
