The Night Run in the beer-brewing city of České Budějovice (German: Budweis) features a particularly beautiful setting.
The start and the finish line are on náměstí Přemysla Otakara II. (Ottokar II Square; pictured above), one of the largest town squares in the Czech Republic.
Three races are available, a 5k (one lap), a 10k (two laps) and a 2x5k relay.
The 5k starts off at 6.30pm, the 10k half an hour later. Participants must wear a čelovka (headlamp) during the race.
The route takes the runners along the Vltava river, through the vast Stromovka park, across Sokolský ostrov (an island with many sports facilities) and through the picturesque historic town centre.
Apart from two bridges, the course is flat.
The event also offers children's races and a non-competitive 2k Family Run.
