The Běh kolem Dyje is a running event held annually in the town of Břeclav, which is located in the South Moravian Region in the Czech Republic, near the borders with Austria and Slovakia.
The 5k race is three laps of a flat course along both banks of the river Dyje.
In addition to the 5k, the event features five race distances (100m - 200m - 500m - 1,000m - 1,500m) for children of various ages.
The start/finish area is at the former sugar refinery (pictured) which is nowadays home to the RACIO company, a major producer of cereal products.
Břeclav is an old town with an industrial character, home to many sports facilities and surrounded by beautiful countryside and numerous magnificent cultural monuments.
The town is easy to reach by public transport as it's a major rail junction between the cities of Brno, Bratislava and Vienna.
