Held yearly on the second Saturday of August in Stinatz, a very pretty village in the Burgenland state in Austria, the Stinatzer Abendlauf & Halbmarathon ("Stinatz Evening Run & Half Marathon") attracts several hundred participants from Austria and neighbouring countries such as Hungary and Slovakia.

The event offers:

  • 300m, 1km, 2km children's races
  • 4.2km run
  • 8.4km run and nordic walking
  • 21.1km half marathon

Starting on Hauptplatz in the centre of the village, the route is an undulating 4.2km loop. The half marathon is five laps of this course.

The first kids' race starts at 6.30pm. The gun for the longer races goes off at 7.15pm.

Stinatz is a bilingual village. More than half of the residents are Burgenlandkroaten, descendants of Croats who emigrated to the area in the 16th century.
