Organized by the LCC Wien, an athletics club based in Austria's capital city Vienna, the Frühlingsmarathon (Spring Marathon) features a flat and fast and AIMS-certified course that offers a fine opportunity to set a personal record over the marathon or half marathon distance.

Three race distances are available:

• 5km Laufen und Walken (run or walk)
• 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)
• 42.2km Marathon

The route is a 5.27km loop through Vienna's largest public park, the Prater, which is home to various sports venues as well as to the "Wurstelprater" amusement park with its famous Riesenrad (Ferris Wheel, pictured above).

Participants in the half marathon run four laps of this course. The marathon is eight laps.The start/finish area is on Hauptallee near the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Austria's largest stadium.
