The Leuchtturmlauf (‘Lighthouse Run’) is held yearly in spring in the resort of Podersdorf am See which sits on the eastern shore of the Neusiedler See (Lake Neusiedl), Austria's largest lake. The southern part of the lake belongs to Hungary.

Competitors run either one lap (3.3km), two laps (6.6km) or three laps (10km) of a flat course through PODOBEACH, the largest Strandbad (bathing beach) in the region.

Each lap includes an out-and-back run to the Leuchtturm (lighthouse) which stands at the end of a 200-metre-long pier.

The race is run on a mix of asphalt and gravel roads.

The event also offers a 400m and a 1km race for children.
