The Brucker Citylauf is an annual running event held traditionally in the spring in Bruck an der Leitha, a small town of about 9,000 people, located approximately fourty kilometres from Vienna in the eastern corner of Austria, near the borders with Hungary and Slovakia.
It's an event for the whole family:
- 380m-500m-1km-1.35km-3.2km children's races
- 3.2km Hobbylauf
- 6.6km Volkslauf & Nordic Walking
- 10km Hauptlauf
Starting on Hauptplatz, Bruck's picturesque main square (pictured above), the Hobbylauf is one lap, the Volkslauf is two laps, and the 10k race is three laps of a flat loop course.
The route runs on asphalt roads through the Old Town and on gravel paths through the Harrachpark, the beautiful English landscape park of the Tudor-style castle of Schloss Prugg:
