The Loipersdorfer Buschenschank-Lauf & Nordic Walking is held annually in the autumn in a hilly wine-producing region in Austria's Steiermark (Styria) province, near the borders with Hungary and Slovenia.

The event is popular for its scenic routes which pass several Buschenschank wine taverns offering home-made wine and cold buffets of traditional peasant food, accompanied by live music.

Five races for runners of all ages are available ...

  • 500m
  • 2.5km
  • 5km
  • 10.8km
  • 21.1km

... and one for nordic walkers:

  • 13km

The 10.8km Steinlauf run, the 13km nordic walking and the 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon) feature hilly point-to-point routes that begin at the thermal spa complex of Therme Loipersdorf and finish in the village of Loipersdorf bei Fürstenfeld.

The 500m and 2.5km kids' races and the 5km Hobbylauf start and end in the village.

Over the last years, the 13km nordic walking has been the most popular route, with many participants taking their time at the Buschenschank aid stations to sample the pleasures of country life.
