Held in the spa resort of Bad Hofgastein, a well-known skiing and hiking destination in the 40-kilometre-long Gasteinertal in the state of Salzburg in Austria, the Marktlauf offers races for runners of all ages:
- 360m kids (one lap)
- 1,360m kids (one lap)
- 2,720m kids (two laps)
- 4,080m women (three laps)
- 4,080m relay teams (3 x 1 lap)
- 5,440m men (four laps)
Starting at the Alpenarena, the 1,360-metre loop course takes the runners through the pedestrianized town centre and along the leafy Kurpromenade.
