Held annually in May in Mozart's home town, the city of Salzburg in Austria, the Salzburg Marathon features a truly grand setting and a flat and scenic course.

Entrants have the choice between the 10k race, the 21.1k half marathon (one lap) and the 42.2k marathon (two laps).

The marathon route is IAAF/AIMS-certified, starting and finishing on Mirabellplatz at Schloss Mirabell (Mirabell Palace) in the city centre.

On its way through the Old Town, along the River Salzach, through rural areas and woods and around a lovely lake, the route passes a large number of Salzburg's best sights, including the city's most impressive palaces.
