Břeclav (Czech Republic), Saturday 22 April 2017
The Běh kolem Dyje takes place in the town of Břeclav in the South Moravian Region in the Czech Republic, just a few kilometres from the borders with Austria and Slovakia.
The event features a 5k race as well as five race distances for children of various ages.
Starting at the former sugar refinery (pictured below), the 5k is three laps of a flat course along both banks of the river Dyje.
Last year, 62 runners took part in the 5k race. The top finishers were Roman Paulík (15min 42sec) and Josefína Komínková (20min 28sec). More than 170 young athletes took part in the children's races.
Břeclav is an old town with an industrial character, home to many sports facilities and surrounded by beautiful countryside and numerous magnificent cultural monuments.
