Novo mesto (Slovenia), Easter Monday 17 April 2017
No plans yet for Easter Monday? How about the Novomeški tek in Novo mesto in Slovenia? More than 800 runners of all ages took part in the event last year.
The main race is the 8km run.
Like the shorter races for the kids, it begins and ends on Glavni trg, the cobbled elongated main square in the Old Town, which sits in a sharp bend of the River Krka.
The race is two laps of a very-undulating 4km-long loop course on mixed terrain (asphalt roads, forest trails, a wooden bridge and a stairway).
In 2016, the top finishers were Matjaž Pregrat (27min 58sec) and Breda Škedelj (32min 14sec).
