Trnava (Slovakia), Saturday 22 April 2017
This City Run offers a flat and fast 10k race through Trnava, a very pleasant town of about 66,000 people, situated fifty kilometres from Slovakia's capital Bratislava.
Starting on Trojičné námestie, the main square in the heart of the old town (pictured above), the route runs through the historic centre with its many awe-inspiring churches, along the medieval town walls, through residential areas and around the former cukrovar, a sugar refinery which operated for 159 years until 2004:
Last year, Šimon Wahlandt (44min 44sec) and Jana Škanderová (40min 41sec) led a field of 453 runners across the finish line. The entry limit for 2017 has been set at 600 runners.
