The Int. Airport Race in Hamburg gives runners the opportunity to race over the classic distance of 10 miles (16.09 kilometres).

The race is one loop around the Hamburg Airport (Flughafen Hamburg), the fifth-busiest international airport in Germany, situated in the Fuhlsbüttel quarter in the northern part of the city.

More than 2,000 runners are expected to make their way to the athletics track of the Lufthansa Sportverein where the race begins and ends.

The route runs largely through residential and green areas but it also passes the passenger terminals and other monstrous airport buildings.

Approximately ten kilometres of the course are run on asphalt and six kilometres on gravel. The time limit to finish the race is two hours.
