The Šmarješki tek in Slovenia is a relatively small running event that attracts around 200 to 300 runners every year.

All races (8km, 2km, children's races) start and end at the Terme Krka thermal spa in Šmarješke Toplice, a small village of 600 people, situated in the rolling hills of the Dolenjska region, about half-way between Ljubljana and Zagreb.

The race is a lovely undulating run, mainly on trails through woods and parkland.
