This Stadtlauf attracts around 500 runners and nordic walkers to the small town of Frohnleiten which sits in the narrow Mur Valley in Austria's state of Steiermark (Styria), approximately 30 kilometres north of the city of Graz.

The event offers races for all ages and abilities: 9.6km, 4.8km, 6.8km nordic walking, a 2.4km team run, a relay run for pairs, and children's races.

Participants in the 9.6km race run two laps of an undulating course which begins and ends on Frohnleiten's very pretty main square.

The route runs through residential areas and farmland to the village of Adriach and then along the River Mur back to the town centre.

About 75 per cent of the route is on asphalt roads and 25 per cent on gravel.
