The Silvestrovský beh medzi mostami ("New Year's Eve Run between the Bridges") is one of Slovakia's oldest running events. Last year, it celebrated its golden jubilee.
Held in Piešťany, the largest spa town in the country, the race features a very fine setting and a scenic course.

Starting on Kolonádový most (Colonnade Bridge), the route is a 1.25km-long loop which takes the runners along both banks of the River Váh and through the spa complex which is located on an island in the river:
