The Silvestrovský beh medzi mostami ("New Year's Eve Run between the Bridges") takes place annually on 30 December in Piešťany, the largest spa town in Slovakia, located approximately 85 kilometres from Bratislava.

Held since 1965, it's a running event with a long tradition.

The New Year's Eve Run features a very fine setting and a scenic course, and it offers races for all ages:

• 100m-500m-1.5km children's races
• 5km
• 10km
• 10km relay (4 x 2.5km for teams of two, three or four runners)

Starting on kúpeľný ostrov (spa island), an island in the Váh river, the 5k race is two laps and the 10k is four laps of a flat loop course that runs around the island, along the river and across two bridges:
