Held in the city centre of Nitra, an old city of about 80,000 inhabitants in western Slovakia, the Nitrianske mestské behy (‘Nitra City Races’) comprise:

  • Detské behy (children's races)
  • 3km Hobby beh (3km hobby run)
  • Beh na 10km (10k race)
  • Polmaratón (half marathon)

The start/finish area is at the zimný štadión (ice hockey arena) in the mestský park (town park) at the foot of the steep castle rock.

Participants in the 10k race run two laps of a scenic 5km loop course. The half marathon is four laps.

Approximately 100 runners took part in the half marathon last year, and about 50 ran the 10k. The time limit to finish the half marathon is 2 hours 40 minutes.

You get: a towel and a backpack, chip timing, drinks on the course, a meal after the race, changing facilities, bag storage, entry into the prize raffle

Prizes: to the first 3 M/F and to the first 3 in each category
