Munich (Germany), Sunday 28 June 2015
Every year, around 15,000 runners register for the Stadtlauf München to pound the streets of Munich, Germany's third-largest city with a population of about 1.4 million.
Held on the last Sunday of June, the half marathon starts off at 8.00am, followed by the 2km children's run at 8.20am, the 10km race at 10.30am, and the 5km run and walk at 12.45pm (when it may be blazing hot in the city).
All races begin and end on Marienplatz (pictured), Munich's main square.
Participants run through the pedestrianized city centre, across the magnificent Odeonsplatz, around the baroque Hofgarten, and through the vast Englischer Garten, one of Europe's largest public parks.
Instead of a bib, entrants get a technical T-shirt which they must wear during the race.
