The Meißner Nachtlauf is a Paarlauf (‘Pair Run’) for two-person relay teams.

Held on the narrow cobbled streets of the picturesque old town of Meißen, which sits on the River Elbe near the city of Dresden in eastern Germany, the event attracts approximately 100 teams.

The race is 17.6km long. Each team runs 16 laps of a 1.1km route through the historic town centre. With 20m of ascent per lap, the route is pretty challenging.

Relay partners complete laps in turns, so that each participant runs eight laps (8.8km). Teams can be male, female, or mixed.
